With sex legal in delivering escort service, the industry has also become an instrument for prostitution. Though the law clearly states the conditions about the legality of escort service, several crimes have been reported regarding the industry.

Firstly, it was stated in the law that anyone can apply as an escort and even deliver sex services to their clients as long as the escort is 18 years old and above. However, there are still others who try to stretch the law regarding the age. Minors (people below 18 years old) also engage in the industry. Some of them are assisted by their parents themselves.

It seems that escort service is an illegal act made legal but must be done behind doors. It is stated in the law that the acts of client recruiting and service rendering must not be publicized and done with proper office procedures; some have been arrested because of their advertising means. Printed ads on streets are not allowed but online advertising is.

Also, it is stated that escort services must not be solicited. Some still disobey this law and is termed as “street prostitution” when the main intention of escort service is not everything about sex.
